Chinese engineers and professors involved in ecological and geographical research visited MSU for a VIPP workshop.

VIPP welcomed a delegation from the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography in China to a professional development workshop at MSU. The members of the delegation were senior engineers and professors who are involved in ecological and geographical research in China. The group is currently working on establishing a research hub in Central Asia and was at MSU to establish connections to future network partners and to learn about innovative research approaches.

Young entrepreneurs from Shanghai traveled to MSU to broaden their understanding of Organization, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at the 2017 VIPP workshop.

VIPP had the pleasure to host a group of young entrepreneurs from Shanghai for an executive workshop focusing on organization management, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The workshop consisted of a number of organized visits and professional meetings, which provided the group with great opportunities to link theory, practice, and their own experience in the area of organizational change and innovation.


US Embassy in Turkey Announcement

On October 8, 2017, the U.S. embassy in Turkey announced that it temporarily suspended non immigrant visa services at posts in Turkey, including the embassy in Ankara and the consular posts in Istanbul and Adana.

Sophomore Scholar Irene Yayishimiye, a computer engineering major, has earned a scholarship from Fast Enterprises Company to attend the Grace Hopper Women in Computing Conference in Orlando, FL.

This year, the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at MSU welcomes 33 new Scholars from 19 African countries. The 2017 cohort is comprised of 21 undergraduates and 12 graduates.


VIPP participants recently took a class field trip to the Tollgate Wetlands in Lansing as part of Jessica DeForest’s class “Environmental Policy Issues & Community Engagement.”

VIPP participants recently took a class field trip to the Tollgate Wetlands in Lansing as part of Jessica DeForest's class "Environmental Policy Issues & Community Engagement." The wetlands are a series of man-made ponds and waterfalls with natural features. It is designed to reduce flooding in the surrounding neighborhoods and clean storm runoff that enters the Red Cedar River.
