Richard S. Joachim
Sokoine Univ. of Agriculture
Bio: Richard S. Joachim is a member of the TPP Animal Health team and an Assistant Lecturer at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). Richard is a has been registered as a veterinary surgeon by the Tanzania Veterinary Council. He is member of faculty, sits on the Undergraduate Studies Committee, and is a Consultant Veterinary Surgeon at the SUA Animal Hospital. He has focused much of his work on livestock surgery and wildlife anesthesia. He is engaged in the implementation of various TPP animal health activities such as coordinating vaccination programs and training community members on livestock health and the management of livestock infrastructure.
Sharadhuli Iddi Kimera
Sokoine Univ. of Agriculture
Bio: S.I. Kimera is an Associate Professor of Veterinary Epidemiology and Lecturer at Sokoine University of Agriculture. He graduated from Sokoine University to become a veterinarian, then obtained an MSc and PhD in Epidemiology from University of Reading in the United Kingdom. He has focused much of his work on infectious diseases and livestock diseases that are zoonotic, infecting both humans and animals. His has particular interest in pastoral production systems and trans-frontier ecosystems, and specifically those ecosystems' human-livestock-wildlife interphases and disease dynamics.
Victoria H. Moshy

Bio: Victoria H. Moshy is a Lecturer at the Institute of Resource Assessment (IRA) and the Centre for Climate Change Studies (CCCS) at the University of Dar es Salaam. Her academic and research interests are on human-environment interactions, focusing on the social aspects of social-ecological resilience, as well as gender issues and sustainable community development, particularly in poor coastal and agro-pastoral communities. Victoria holds a PhD in Environment and Development Studies from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, and a Masters of Arts degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Dar es Salaam. She joined Tanzania Partnership Program (TPP) in 2017, where she serves as both the TPP In-Country Education Abroad Co-Leader and the TPP In-Country Program Coordinator.
Joseph Mtamba
University of Dar es Salaam
Bio: Joseph Ochieng Mtamba has is an employee of the University of Dar es Salaam with previous experience in engineering construction and consultancy. Engineer Joseph Mtamba (PhD) is a civil and water resources engineer with more than 15 years of experience in water infrastructure planning and design, water supply and sanitation design, and monitoring and evaluation. He also has experience with hydraulic and hydrological modeling, environmental impact, and remote sensing projects. Dr. Mtamba is responsible for teaching and training students in the Department of Water Resources Engineering. His research interest includes processes of floodplain geomorphology, climate change and adaptation in water resources management, ground water management, water safety and treatment, and remote sensing.
Emiliana Mwita

Bio: Emiliana Mwita is the TPP Coordinator for the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE). She is the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Economics. Emiliana received her Ph.D. in Geography at Bonn University in Germany. Her research interests lie in natural resource assessment and management, with a special interest in wetlands and land use land covers analysis. She has conducted research in the Central and Rift valley regions of Kenya and various regions in Tanzania. She is currently working on girls’ mentoring project in Milola-Lindi Rural District. Emiliana teaches geography courses to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Joel Nobert

Bio: Joel Nobert holds B.Sc in Civil Engineering, an M.Sc in Water Resources Engineering, and a PhD in Water Resources Engineering. He was the head of the Department of Water Resources Engineering at University of Dar es Salaam from 2012 to 2018. He has been the acting director for the Institute of Resource Assessment (IRA) since August 2018. Dr. Joel Nobert is a Senior Lecturer and teaches various courses on GIS and remote sensing, groundwater and surface water hydrology, and integrated water resources management. Under the Nile Equatorial Lakes Subsidiary Action Program (NELSAP), he developed a water allocation model for the Kagera River basin. He is an expert in water resource modeling and has participated in the development of integrated water resources management for the internal drainage basin in Tanzania. He is currently on the team of experts for the Ministry of Water and Irrigation to guide the Transboundary Water Allocation.
Perpetua John Urio

Bio: Perpetua John Urio is a Lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundations, Management and Lifelong Learning (EFMLL). She is also the In-Country Research Coordinator for TPP, a Principal Investigator for the Gender Awareness and Transformation through Education, a collaborative project between Dar es Salaam University College and Trinity College Dublin, and a National Facilitator for the Tutors Professional Development Program. She teaches courses in educational management and research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her research interests are in educational management and leadership, professional development, and gender issues. She has published articles on gender and school leadership in higher institutions. She has been engaged in various TPP activities such as training mentors for the girls clubs, leading student teachers working in secondary schools in TPP's partner villages, conducting Teacher Professional Development Training, and conducting leadership trainings for school leaders, boards and committees.

Jonathan Kivuyo

Bio: Jonathan Simon Kivuyo joined TPP in 2019 as Naitolia's Village-Based Program Officer. Before becoming VPO, Jonathan worked as a secondary school teacher, a wildlife ecologist, a program assistant for the 2018 TPP Study Abroad Program, and a volunteer at ECHO East Africa Impact. He holds a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Science and Conservation from the University of Dar es Salaam and a master’s degree in Natural Resource Assessment and Management from the same university.
Mary Malekela
In-Country Program Officer

Bio: Mary Malekela is the TPP In-Country Program Officer. Prior to joining TPP, she worked with a local NGO called KINNAPA in the rural Kiteto District as the Assistant Program Coordinator and the Administrative and Personnel Officer from 1999 to 2003. In September 2003 she joined the Jifunze Project also in Kibaya Village, Kiteto District, Manyara Region and worked as the Country Director. As Country Director, Mary managed the Community Education Resource Center in Kiteto District and built partners’ capacity. Mary graduated from Sokoine University of Agriculture with an MA in Rural Development in 2010. Upon joining TPP in February 2011, Mary worked as the In-Country Assistant Coordinator and in February 2012 she became the TPP In-Country Program Officer. In this role, Mary oversees the coordination and implementation TPP activities.
Erasto Mang’enya
In-Country Asst. Program Officer

Bio: Erasto Mang'enya joined TPP in 2016 as the In-Country Assistant Program Officer. He he assists in managing the implementation of TPP development activities, including facilitating partners travel to program sites, budgeting, and maintaining a collaborative relationship between TPP partners, village members, and district authorities. Erasto holds an MSc in Natural Resources Management from the University of Dodoma in Tanzania. His research interests lie in natural resources management, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and community development. His master's dissertation primarily addressed the Impacts of REDD+ pilot project on local communities' livelihoods during climate change mitigation. He published two peer-reviewed papers on the contribution of REDD+ pilot project to community livelihoods and on its impact on food security. He is also a member of the Geographical Association of Tanzania.

Bio: Editha Dennis Mushi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, which she received in 2018 from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Ms. Editha is a Village-Based Program Officer at TPP in Milola Village. She joined the TPP team in September 2019. In the past, she worked with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) in departments such as the reception, data recording, accounts, and compliance departments. Just before coming to TPP, Ms. Editha was interning at ECHO East Africa, the organization which she joined just after receiving her BA in Economics. At ECHO East Africa, Editha has received several trainings in agriculture conservation, nutrition and data collection in the community.
Celina Peter
In-Country Finance and Administrative Officer

Bio: Celina Peter joined TPP as the In-Country Finance and Administrative Officer in March 2019. She holds a bachelor's degree with honors in Commerce and Management from UDSM and has worked in banking, energy, and NGO industries in Tanzania. As part of her role with TPP, Celina provides financial and administrative support for budgeting, reporting, payments and payroll, and program logistics. Celina has professional training in communication, leadership, and conflict management.
